Pilates is an exercise method that develops a strong body from the inside out. It consists of low impact stretching and body-conditioning exercises for both men and women of all ages. The Pilates method is designed to reduce stress levels, improve balance and co-ordination, increase bone density, encourage correct postural alignment, build core strength and bring about greater body awareness. As Pilates requires concentration, the mind and body work in unison making this connection of the two vital and central to the method. Done with precision and consistency, Pilates develops a “sound body – sound mind”.
